On the ground of a former coffee roasting factory, landscape architecture was designed to create a common design basis for the heterogeneous architecture and to contribute to identification within the quarter. The geometrical grid of a coherent belt structure links the different buildings, their typologies and their uses. The plants become a part of the quarter which defines the atmosphere and builds space. They represent a human scale within the extensive area and around the foot of the highrise tower. They connect with the natural elements of the region and of the location – wind and water – and strengthen their perceptibility within the urban context. Alongside the river Weser, a leveled terrace landscape invites for sunbathing – the terraces can also be used as “lounges” for the adjacent gastronomy or as tribune for events.
